Privacy Policy

BioOptimiza is a metabolic health app that analyses your continuous glucose data alongside the meals, sleep and exercise you log. This policy explains what we process — in the app and on our website, biooptimiza.cl — who we share it with, and how to delete it.
Who is responsible for your data
BioOptimiza SpA, RUT (Chilean tax ID) 78.511.333-0, Chile, is the controller of your data. You can write to us at martin@biooptimiza.cl.
What we collect

How we use it
- Show your glucose data and your activity timeline.
- Compute metrics (time in range, variability, peaks) and generate your weekly insight.
- Write plain-language explanations of what we observe in your data.
- Maintain your account and let you reset your password.
- Ship your sensors and contact you about your order. Your phone number is for the courier and, if you join the trial, for asking your feedback on WhatsApp.
- Understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers needed to run the app:

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies, which may include their own retention periods. Anthropic, PostHog, Resend, Amazon Web Services and Vercel process data in the United States, so your data is transferred there.
Meal photos
When you log a meal with a photo, the image is sent straight to the analysis service and is never written to disk or stored. Only the result of the analysis (for example, the dish name) is saved with your activity.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you connect Apple Health (on iPhone) or Health Connect (on Android) from the Devices tab, the app reads your workouts and nights of sleep so it can log them for you, and you don't have to re-enter what your watch or another app already recorded. When your watch or ring measured them, it also reads your heart rate during each workout (to show its intensity), your sleep stages and your resting heart rate. It also reads your steps in 15-minute slots, to show how much you walked after each meal. We read only that data and never write to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Each workout or night is saved as an activity, exactly as if you had logged it yourself, and used the same way: to compare it with your glucose and write your insights, which includes sending it to Anthropic as described above. Apple Health and Health Connect data is not used for advertising or marketing, not sold, and not shared with third parties beyond the providers listed.
You can disconnect either at any time from Devices, or remove access on the phone: on iPhone in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices; on Android in the Health Connect app › App permissions. If you delete an imported activity, it is not imported again.
Website
On biooptimiza.cl we use PostHog to learn how many people visit the site, where they come from (for example, Instagram) and at which step of buying they stop. To do that:
- We store an anonymous identifier in your browser's storage — not a cookie — to recognise a returning visit. It is not linked to your name or email.
- PostHog receives the pages you view, the buttons you tap, the site you came from, your device and browser type, and your IP address, which it uses to estimate your city or country.
- We anonymously record how you move through the pages (scrolling and clicks), to find what confuses people. What you type into forms is never recorded — name, email, phone, address — and neither are your email or order number when they appear on screen.
- We do not measure or record the account activation or subscription management pages.
This data is not used for advertising or shared with ad networks. PostHog keeps visit data for up to 1 year and recordings for up to 30 days. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your visit.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your profile and all your health data are erased immediately and permanently, with no recovery window.
The exception is purchase records (name, email, phone, shipping address, plan, amount and, if you gave it, your RUT), which we keep for 6 years from the purchase to meet Chilean tax and accounting obligations. They are no longer linked to your account and are used for nothing else.
Deleting your account
From the app, under Settings → Delete account, or without the app by emailing martin@biooptimiza.cl. The steps, what is erased and what is kept are at biooptimiza.cl/delete-account.
Your rights
You can access or correct your data, ask for a copy to take to another service, or object to its processing by writing to martin@biooptimiza.cl. To erase it, follow the steps at biooptimiza.cl/delete-account.
If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you can file a complaint with Chile's Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales).
Important health notice
BioOptimiza describes relationships observed in your data. It is not a medical device, does not provide diagnoses, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult your doctor before making treatment decisions.
Children
BioOptimiza is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top.
